Specific dates are published in the Spanish Fort Spotlight each Tuesday and in Friday's Pastor's Note. Here is the shape of a week and a year at Spanish Fort.
The rhythm of our year follows the Christian calendar, the school calendar, and the life of our community.
We light the candles and sing the carols, with special music services including Lessons and Carols. Christmas Eve brings hundreds together across multiple services.
Worship continues through Epiphany. The Children's Ministry attends a Winter Children's Retreat at Blue Lake Camp, and adult discipleship classes start their winter rounds.
We publish a daily devotional booklet and walk together through Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday.
The fifty days from Easter to Pentecost are a focused membership and reconnection season, especially for regular attenders who have not yet formally joined.
Confirmation Sunday for our middle-school students, the spring Pop-Up Thrift Store, and Costa Rica mission teams traveling over spring break.
Vacation Bible School, summer studies for adults, Summer Revive youth camp, and a few combined services on selected Sundays.
The program year begins in August. Sunday evening groups restart, the annual discipleship series runs through Commitment Sunday, and Charge Conference is held in early November.
Some things never stop. Sunday morning discipleship. The monthly Community Dinner. The Mahjong group every Wednesday. The Prayer Chain every day. Pastoral care continues without a calendar.
Church groups can request space and a calendar slot through the event request form, and the office will confirm the details.
