HURRICANE IDA RELIEF | Monetary Donations | You can visit the Alabama West Florida Conference’s web page to make donations here: https://bit.ly/sfumcida.

HURRICANE IDA RELIEF | Disaster Clean Up Buckets | Our church is involved with our Baypines District to help those impacted by Hurricane Ida. We are looking to assemble 50 cleaning buckets. The buckets will be provided, we simply need to fill them with needed supplies. You can help in one or two ways:

1. Be responsible to take a bucket and fill it with the supplies (individual families or classes/groups together). A list of supplies can be found below by clicking the “supply list” button and will also be in the bucket you take to fill. Approximate cost of the materials is $70 dollars.

2. Provide funds for the supplies needed for the cleaning buckets. (Simply make your check payable to SFUMC and mark it for: Cleaning Buckets.)

Buckets will be available at the church office on Friday, September 3rd. We will also have buckets available for you to take this coming Sunday, September 5th after the 10:00 a.m. Blended Worship Service by the Sanctuary. We need a fairly quick turnaround so we are hoping you can fill the bucket within a week and return it to the West Campus Youth Area by Monday, September 13th. Thanks for your participation as we seek to help those in need. But even if you are not able to assist in this effort, continue to pray for the ongoing efforts and assistance to those deeply impacted by Hurricane Ida.

Hygiene Kits – Children’s Missions | Ongoing | Children’s ministry participates in a year long mission effort of collecting and assembling hygiene kits for disaster relief and local organizations. Each month different items are collected and then they are assembled. During September, we will be collecting new hand towels and unisex, travel sized deodorant. There are drop off locations in the Narthex and West Campus. You can also have items sent directly from our Amazon wish list HERE. For more information, please contact Jennifer Robertson in the office.

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS | We would love to have you join us in helping to grow our children and youth ministries. We offer Sunday mornings/evenings, and Wednesday evening opportunities to engage in purposeful ministry with our youth and children. Our children and youth ministries provide biblical lessons that are engaging and centered on building community through Christ’s model of loving your neighbor. We need volunteers to help cover Sunday school, nursery, children’s church, Catapult, Extreme Kids, LOL, and Remedy group fellowships. If God has laid it on your heart to commit to volunteering to the biblical growth of our children and youth, now is the time. If you have questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Kitsy Dixon in the church office, or via email at kitsy@spanishfortumc.org.

Uniform Closet | Ongoing | The Uniform Closet will be open on the first Tuesday of each month beginning September 7th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The Uniform Closet will also be accepting phone orders only through the church office. Requests for school uniforms will then be filled with what we have available and participants will receive a call to set up an appointment time to come to the church office and pick them up.

We are also in need of clean uniform items in good condition. If you have uniform donations or returns, you can drop them off at the church office during regularly scheduled office hours. If you have any questions, please call the office or email ministries@spanishfortumc.org.

Upper Room Devotionals | Devotionals can now be picked up directly from the church office and in the Narthex of the church.
